The mail delivery interruption service allows you to ensure safe storage of your post when you are on holiday or away and cannot empty the mailbox every day.
When you order this service, you must choose which Åland Post service centre you want to collect your saved post from.
If the interruption is for two weeks or less, and the amount of post is not going to be greater than the space in your post box, you can also choose for the post to be delivered on the first working day after the period has ended.
This is a paid-for service. You can order periods from one day up to a whole year.
Useful to know
Your saved mail is stored at the service centre for two weeks after the interruption period has ended. If the mail remains uncollected after this time, it is either returned to sender or treated as undeliverable, i.e. the mail is sent to the Åland government for investigation in the event that either the sender or recipient details are given.
During the interruption period, Åland Post returns mail that requires signing for and mail that has an arrival notification for the sender, in accordance with the storage periods stated in Åland Post AB’s general delivery terms or as per requirements from the sender.

As the service is personal, you must state all individuals (such as family members) who are to be included in the interruption period when making your order.
