Post to your normal address is sent to a different address for a predetermined period.
This is a paid-for service and can be ordered for one week up to a whole year. Your main address is unchanged and when the agreed time has finished, your mail reverts back to this address.
The service includes forwarding of mail items within Åland and the mainland, i.e. letters, newspapers and advertising.
If the address is abroad, only Economy and Priority letters are forwarded. Other items are returned to sender or treated as undeliverable, i.e. the mail is sent to the Åland government for investigation in the event that either the sender or recipient details are given.
Remember:
- om den tidsbestämda adressändringen görs till eller från en adress på fastlandet eller i utlandet behöver du meddela både Åland Post och postoperatören där.
- both the beginning and end date are included in the period that the service is applicable.
- Local newspapers (Nya Åland and Ålandstidningen) plus Hufvudstadsbladet are not included in the service. If you want these papers sent to a fixed-term address, you must contact the relevant customer services for each publication.
- For addresses within Åland, packages are forwarded to the Post Office or Post in Shop associated with the fixed-term address.
- Delivery packages are not included in the service.
Summer post boxes
With fixed-term forwarding, you have the option to have your post delivered to your summer address.
Distribution to summer addresses is free of charge if:
- the summer post box is located next to \"year-round post boxes\"
- the post box is along the normal distribution route and the distance to the nearest \"year-round post boxes\" is more than 1 km away.
If your summer post box does not meet the above criteria, a monthly fee is charged for each month you wish to have your mail redirected to your summer address.
Contact Åland Post directly by email or phone if you have not previously had mail directed to your summer address, and if you wish to have post redelivered to a location different from the above criteria.
